Penny is a gorgous registered new forest roan filly she is 2and half yrs old, halter broken, easy to catch , friendly and comes to call she has not had a huge amount of handling so still needs work on picking up her feet and tying up etc but she has an easy temperament and is willing to please so that wont take long. She goes in and out of the lorry happily and travels well and is happy to be stabled or live out(she has wintered out without a rug) she mixes well with other horses and will make someone a super all round pony.
On the 15th of May this year she produced a stunning little colt foal, this was a total suprise to everyone. her stomach had looked rather large but we couldnt belive she could possibly be in foal as she was so young but obviously she was. she was turned out with a couple of new forest colts last summer and although unlikely apparently it is possible for yearlings to manage it. going from the dates we are 95% sure that the sire was a liver chestnut NF colt we had by Faircross Sunrise (pic 3 show penny and him together last summer) the foal is starting to go roan like his mum and is a lovely friendly little chap. Penny has been turned out with my homozygous traditional cob stallion Freeway Tom since may so i see no reason why she would not be in foal again for next year and it would garunteed to be a coloured foal.(if for some reason she turned out not to be i would offer a free return to him for next year) she has been a super mum and very easy to do.
Although i think she would also make a super riding pony.
I would consider selling seperately on weaning and would want £800 for the mare and £350 for the foal.
This is a sad sale but i just do not have the land to keep anymore mares . Good home a priority as i am fond of the pair of them.
