Fudge is a VERY special traditional coloured broodmare. Not only has every foal she has produced been coloured and tested positive for the homozygous gene, she always passes on her dun dilute gene which means every foal she has had has either been dun and white or dilute black and white! (see photos of previous foals!) She always throws bigger then herself, the top filly matured at 15hh. Both sires of the foals pictured were traditional NATIVES ie welsh past breds not Gypsy Cobs.
If you breed her to a light sire you get show horses/traditional natives/small sport horses and if you breed to a heavy traditional stallion you get traditional natives or heavy gypsy cob foals with the RARE dilute colour!
The last foal she had this year (Shantaine Idriss) was by The Kingsbury Kid our other heavy Gypsy Cob stallion and the exciting colt is homozygous AND dun and white! AND HAS TONS OF FEATHER!!
Fudge is approx 15 years of age looks much younger and has a good many foals left in her. She is easy to get in foal and to give birth. She is in the process of being chaps registered which means her coloured foals will have a verified parent which many traditionals do not have. If you breed to a licenced sire you will get a foal which would have a verified parentage on both sides!!
She is currently in foal to the legendary heavy hairy traditional gypsy cob stallion The Kingsbury Cob who has sired foals all over the world including the USA and Europe, and is by the famous stallion called The Old Black Horse Of Ireland (Eddie Allcock`s desceased stallion.) This is becoming one of the last opportunities to purchase a Kingbury Cob foal as he is now nearly 20 and will be retiring from stud at the end of this year. The foal she is carrying will be a dilute, and is the ONLY (!!!) dilute (dun/dilute black) foal he has EVER PRODUCED. Her foal is due in May. I am also offering a free covering next year to one of my other stallions hense the 3 for 1 offer.
Her price is not negociable as she is genetically a rare and popular colour that is hard to breed in cobs, and she costs the same as most traditional FOALS are selling for, and of course the foal she is carrying is worth £1500 so she is an absolute bargain! (not forgetting the FREE breeding next year!)
She is ride and drive although she hasn`t been ridden for 4 years, and she has a phenomenal jump!
She can sometimes be a little bit naughty to box, and prefers a trailer to a lorry as I have noticed that a lot of lorries have REALLY steep ramps! But to be fair everytime Fudge has been loaded in the last 4 years she has been rewarded by having her foal taken off her! So I don`t blame her really!
I want her to go to a stud/showing home that understands the importance of her colouring and would be an asset to colour breeders or breeders of exotic colours (ie dun/palomino)
Only for sale as retaining stock by her.
First to see will buy.
Shantaine Cobs are doing very well in the showring with every mare and stallion put through gradings passing everytime with high scores (most recently Shantaine Sophie who passed her BSPA grading with 80%) The successful stallion Shantaine An Sparticus needs to introduction as Rebecca Lock has won many championships with him, and everything entered in the youngstock evaluations has done very well indeed most recently Kassabian who won the Championship.
the newly graded stallion Gracious Lord was also purchased from us. |
